Interested in joining the Lab?
Are you interested in how trees "breathe" and "drink" in a changing climate? Do you want to work at the intersection of cutting-edge plant physiology and practical forest management?
At the Gutierrez Lopez Lab, we don’t just observe forests; we instrument them. From the boreal stretches of Sweden to the agroforestry highlands of Rwanda, we use high-resolution sensors to decode tree stress and water use.
What we look for
We value curiosity, technical grit, and a "get it done" attitude. We are looking for students (BSc/MSc/PhD) and interns who:
Love the Outdoors: Are excited about field work, often in challenging weather or remote locations.
Are Tech-Curious: Have an interest (or experience) in environmental sensors, electronics, or data logging.
Are Data-Driven: Possess a foundational interest in R, Python, or JMP for turning sensor "noise" into physiological insights.
Value Impact: Want their research to influence real-world forestry and farming practices.
