New and Upcoming Research Projects
This will be the most comprehensive drought experiment ever in Fennoscandia. We will test the effects of early snowmelt (e.g., warming winters), atmospheric and hydrologic drought.
The Tönnersjöheden rainfall exclusion experiment is testing whether increased tree stress, will lead to increased bark beetle attacks. This is a super-site located in Southern Sweden.
This project started in December 2024. We are testing the effects of tree spacing and species composition on water availability in agroforestry systems in Rwanda.
Ongoing research projects
This project deals with an ongoing effort to monitor long-term transpiration in mixed boreal forests.
In this project, we are using water transport and hyper spectral imagery to detect early attacks of bark beetles.
We aim to build a three-dimensional model of stem water content in boreal forests
